Good prices. I needed a bass gig bag and they had exactly what I needed for only $30. What's nice is after further inspection, Sweetwater was offering a lower price but would have made me pay shipping. The ability to drive to Intl House of Music and pick up the case was cheap and convenient. I also saw they had a Nord Stage 4 for only $4000 which is about $1500 cheaper than Guitar Center. Overall, nice store.

Until my son's Yamaha 650 clarinet was playing an octave off, I would never had gone out to find these guys. Let me say that a 650 is not something you want fixed by amateurs. Well these guys were 110% on it. A younger lady (Melody) took one look, said, she saw a missing pad, some damaged cook and a few loose items. 30 minutes later it was good as new and smooth as silk. The wait was not bad, they have a very entertaining store with everything....yes everything...well maybe not a didgeridoo, but you get the idea....a lot of musical instruments and very friendly and helpful staff. They really made a positive impression. I would especially like to thank Melody (seriously that's her name) who hooked my up on the repairs. Super smart skilled girl with tools . I would highly recommend. Side note: Prices appear to be competitive and they had a nice selection to choose from.

I've been coming here for a while, their selection is good and their staff is knowledgeable... however, Don the repair man is PHENOMENAL! He's setup or repaired just about all of my guitars and always does such a great job. Even though I don't live near the shop, I always travel out when my guitars need work because Don knows what he's doing and makes sure the guitars are playing their best. Thanks!

I'm conflicted with writing this review but i feel like i need to put it out there. This review is only for the consignment of my guitar they sold. I brought the guitar in July and they sold it in September so turnaround time was pretty good and the front desk staff were really knowledgeable. He said the split was 70/30 so they would get 30% of the sale, I'm ok with that since they are finding the buyer. They did an inspection and were really thorough with the quality (near mint condition). He looked up the guitar online and said the retail is $250 so if they sold it I would get $175. Great, the math checks out so we both signed the contract stating i would get $175. Well they sold it in September and I went to pick up my check and turns out they sold it for $300, which means it was no longer 70/30 split. I get it they can increase the price after the contract is signed, but isn't that a bit shady on two fronts? Told the consigner it retails for a lower price they actually sold it for and also sold a used guitar to someone above market price? Anyway, this is something I would shrugg off if it was like Guitar Center but since it's a local shop this really rubbed me the wrong way. Lessons learned, when putting items into consignment don't put down a hard cash number into the contract, put down a percentage of what they sell it for.

They are so helpful! I have no idea how the prices compared to Amazon.... And I don't really care.... Because being able to walk in and get really helpful service and actually end up with something that I want and is useful....priceless. The first time I went here was to get a cord for my son, another franchise had tried to sell me something super expensive Jims sales guy heard what I needed and got me something nice and cheap that did the trick. Today I went back to get a guitar. I had first stopped by guitar center and the salesperson was 100% unhelpful. Then I saw Jim's sign remember that they were there and my positive plastic experience and decided to stop in. Within 10 minutes I had exactly what I was looking for at a price that I felt great about. Best of both worlds. supported local business, and get great value people who know what they're talking about and wanting to help. I have three kids we will definitely be back here for more as they grow.
